Ein weiterer Grund den Kochlöffel in der Lade zu lassen ist einer unserer liebsten Köche – und soeben auch Koch des Jahres geworden 🙂 Max Stiegl mit seinen Restaurant Purbach Estate. We particularly like his philosophy "From Nose to Tail" - i.e. processing the whole animal and also offering almost forgotten dishes such as snipe, numerous offal such as tongue or tripe, because it shows respect for the animal, which Max cooks here with great dedication.

His signature dish "chicken in a bladder" and the famous Sautanz in autumn are definitely worth a visit - booking a cab and an overnight stay with Max or with us at the Seehütte Neusiedlersee is highly recommended. The Galeriecafe - our favorite for cakes and aperitifs
If you fancy a dessert or an aperitif with a direct view of the storks and their nests high above the rooftops of Rust, we recommend the Gallery cafe in the center of the old town of Rust, which is one of the most picturesque of its kind with its numerous town houses and is now a listed building. The owner bakes here herself and constantly fills the display cases with the sweetest delicacies, while you can gaze over the wonderful facades of Rust and watch the storks on the roofs breeding and rearing their offspring in spring and summer.
